A LITTLE ABOUT ME
I’m a wife to an amazing man, a momma to 3 beautiful babies and a blessed business owner from West Texas. I love all things beauty and makeup, fitness and nutrition! I have been studying and working in the fitness industry since 2004.
One of my favorite things in life is making others smile and helping them to be more confident in their own skin. Knowing that I helped them to reach their full potential…well there’s no greater reward! I love sharing tips on how to practice good self care and looking good while doing it. I’m also all about the fun and believe laughter can cure.
I just love meeting people and making new friends! If you ever have any questions, please feel free to message me. I would love to chat!
My survivor story...
So I feel for you to really know why I do what I do and how passionate i am about it, you should know the path that drove me to it. It all begin with a time that I believe to be my ”distance survival period”. When I was 18 I was diagnosed with an acoustic neuroma (brain tumor). Due to it’s size and location I underwent a 30 hour surgery that ended up being a success (in that I am still alive to tell about it) but was not without casualties. Because of the location of the benign tumor I permanently lost hearing in my left ear and my left facial nerve was severed to where there was no facial movement. In addition, I was unable to walk and had no control of my fine motor skills; not to mention the severe swelling of my face and fatigue of my body and internal organs had made it difficult to function. Through time, my faith, intense physical therapy and the amazing support/love/motivation of my family and some close friends I was able to overcome a number of major obstacles.
Within 3 months I was able to walk and brush my hair with a lot less struggle. Can I just say that it’s amazing the capabilities we take for granted until we aren’t able to do them anymore. Within the next 6 months I did make significant improvements.
Unfortunately, after month 7 my health insurance would no longer pay for my PT visits. I was still struggling with balance and strength and knew I needed to do something about it if I wanted to succeed in my physical goals. I had heard about a form of exercise called Pilates from one of my Physical Therapists. She said that it was designed to help individuals with physical rehabilitation. She recommended that I start taking some classes. A few months later I took my first class. It was kind of nerve racking because I had no clue what I was doing and I was not able to fully execute a number of exercises. After the class I spoke with the instructor and she told me that in time I would get better and love the results. SHE WAS SO RIGHT!! Months later I was physically 110% and loved it so much that I got certified and began teaching Pilates. Within 6 months from that I was teaching other formats and became a certified personal trainer. This also led me to adopting a healthier lifestyle, proper nutrition habits and becoming more confident in several aspects of life.
Now I did not start off by telling you this to get a pity party, so please don’t feel sorry for me! As you can see it does have a happy ending. I am fortunate for all that I learned, the strength it has given me and the many wonderful people I have met along the way that have changed my life for the better. I have also been blessed to help others either through sharing my story or through fitness. Honestly, there is no greater joy than seeing others succeed in their goals and knowing that you helped them to get there! Thank you Lord for allowing me the ability to do so! With all the awful things in the world we should not take the lives that we are able to live for granted. And I don’t know about you but when I leave this world I want it to remember I was there and I cared! Make someone’s day today by letting them know they matter because they may not be here tomorrow.
So if you are wondering how I can help you or if I can really relate to your struggles...the answer is YES! I will be your fitness/nutrition guide, counselor, educator, cheerleader, but most of all I will help you to be the best version of you and give you the confidence to know you can do it!
Thanks for stoping by and I can’t wait to get to know you!
